DfGallery is one of the best flash gallery on the web for its features like integration with popular image hosting services, option to add background music and the best of all, that it is free. The same DfGallery has now become more potent in its latest version 2.0. The new version comes with quite a few changes including better user interface and a theme engine built to support custom themes with multiple skins.

You can read more about it and download the same at DezinerFolio.
We found some more icons at IconsPedia which we believe you’d like. It is a set of 100 icons ranging from popular website icons to the computer related icons. The icon set is called Weby and it has been designed by Asher Abbasi and I am loving the clarity of these icons. There’s nothing too fancy yet they look awesome. The icons measure at 64×64 pixels and you can download them from the IconsPedia page.

It’s time that we get our say expressed about WordPress 2.7 which has a pleasantly compact Administrator panel along with some other changes of varied significance. Some developers hopped onto the WordPress 2.7 big time by creating their WordPress themes which are compatible with the latest version of WordPress or by porting their existing themes to work smoothly on WordPress 2.7. The major difference in WordPress 2.7 has been regarding the pagination of comments and following are some of the most beautiful WordPress 2.7 compatible themes. Have a look.

As you guys know that I have been playing with Windows 7beta for four days now, so I thought to pimp it up a little which in my definition is putting on some cool wallpaper and screwing it a little bit from and there usually to enhance its appearance. Windows 7 drastically decreases the need of any third party softwares to customize its looks unlike Windows XP or even Vista. Its taskbar is brilliant which means most users won’t try to use Rocketdock or use Windows Visual styles. If you are still trying Rocketdock icons on Vista then you should probably buy a Mac. Nevertheless here are some of the cool wallpapers which I am gonna try on Windows 7.

A lot of people I know are twitterholics and I believe the way things are going I might also become one of them. Some of the people have also started to use it as one medium where they can discuss or have a communication around social media because it’s usually the social media guys who you’d see making most noise on Twitter or for that matter friendfeed. In these situations one often feels the need of 140 character limit annoying. I dugg for some twitter based application and services which can bypass the 140 character limit or shorten your messages on twitter.
TinyPaste is TinyURL for text. It allows you to write as much as you can and when you are done, it gives you a tinypaste URL which you can tweet. Your twitter followers can access your message on the tinypaste URL you tweet. If you like this one then you might like to check out its Firefox extension as well.
Twitzer is a Firefox extension which shortens your long twitter messages. After installing this Firefox extension, you can write post or whatever you want to rant on Twitter and if you have crossed the character limit then all the additional text will be replaced with a shorttext link which on clicking will show the full message to the readers inside the browser.

I like to keep my contacts organized and that’s one reason why i prefer using different im services for different tasks. i tend to use Gmail or Google Talk for my professional contacts while I use MSN for my friends. This often requires me to either have both Google Talk and MSN live clients open or I use a multi-protocol IM client like pidgin. For some time pidgin was the only such software I knew about but digging a little more, you find that options are aplenty.
Pidgin is one of the best multi protocol IM cleint available right now. It has been serving the communication needs of web users for some time now which apparently also means that some of the deviant users have tried to customize it as well. Pidgin offers one of the best customization options and you can change its look and icons to your desire. It works with almost every email account you own like AIM, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, Google Talk, Groupwise, ICQ, IRC, MSN, MySpaceIM, QQ, SILC, SIMPLE, Sametime, XMPP, Yahoo! and Zephyr across all the Windows/ Linux and UNIX Operating Systems.
Digsby is the new kid on the block but has taken the world by storm because it not just mult-platform IM client but also a social networking tool. Digsby has exploited certain areas which were not considered useful or worthy by other similar applications. It minimizes the need to open the email account in browser as you can send emails right from the Digsby. It also supports Twitter and Facebook which are not natively supported by Pidgin. You can however use certain plugins to enable both the services on Pidgin but everyone likes complete product. It currently has Windows version but Mac and Linux versions are expected to be available soon.

I have been using Windows Seven Beta for last three days and I have thoroughly enjoyed working on it and playing with its awesome taskbar. I wanted to have the first hand experience so I installed it natively on hard disk instead of trying it using VMWare or other Virtualization softwares.

The installation was pretty smooth and I think Windows has really worked hard in keeping the installation time as less as possible. The installation took me around 25 minutes and I would even go as far to say that it was by far the best installation of any Operating System and that includes Linux Ubuntu. This is bound to cause some sensation amongst the Ubuntu users but guys, Windows has always been ruthless against its competition and Windows Seven seems like Microsoft’s arsenal to thwart the increasing competition.

If you are even remotely like me then you must be using multiple computers to perform your work and the daily dose of video gaming. I tend to shuffle between three machines to do my work and thus I try to seek an uniformity in all the desktops. It is quite a challenge to synchronize certain files between all the machines I use and thus I need a solid synchronization and backup solution. I tend to use some applications which might help you guys as well in keeping a copy of your most used files and folders across all your machines.
Live Mesh is a new service from the notorious Microsoft which makes a backup of the user-selected files and folders on their servers. I am obviously assuming that you wouldn’t mind Microsoft keeping your data. The files which you have put in the mesh are copied/ to the other computers when they come online using a Live Mesh software which you need to install in all your machines with which you want to synchronize data. Any change in the file by means of addition or removal is updated across all the machines.
