November 29th, 200828 Web Designs With Creative Footer
There has been trend in last 2-3 years to use beautiful headers which earlier used to be the most neglected element of web design. The header design also happens to be one element which is rather more prone to experimentation. This has led some creative souls to unleash the riot of CSS and HTML in the footers because it’s just so ‘2006′ to use a single line copyright text. This also reminds me that we are also in the process of bringing a new theme for JustSkins which will probably have lot more than just copyright text. It’s not that every web design should have a creative footer but having one doesn’t hurt. Following are some of the cool footer designs which has inspired us, and we hope they will cause you to start giving in some class and authentic imagination in your footer designs.
This footer is awesome and great for a personal blog as you may link to your Facebook or Myspace profiles so that you may have more web social respect. There are overlap shades and colors which gives it a grungy feel under close inspection.
It is a wide footer which holds a blogroll and the description of the blog author and history along with inevitable twitter bird. The History and BLogroll links display wobble effect when you move the cursor of the mouse over it while the color pattern finishes the slightly compact header.
The shiny floral designs in this footer are sure to catch the attention of the viewer which is obviously the main purpose behind a designer portfolio website like this.
The foooter design in this one paralleles the design and feel of the header while directing the reader to other posts. A nice design overall.
The purpose of the website is to showcase the portfolio designs and it shows clearly in the footer as well. Right on target.
This footer design is completely derived from the motive and the name of the website which makes it unique and captivating at the same time.
The footer of Spoonographics is little random and gels well with the overall design of the website in three or four shades of color. Its header is more spectacular.
The footer of Seraph Design has this unique touch of brush while using the space to showcase links.
It’s hard to realize that this footer is made on a blogspot blog and that truly makes the designer of this blog a genius. There is intricate design with a grungy look all amalgamated to produce an absolutely awesome footer design. May be I am exaggerating but you gotta remember that it is a blogspot blog.
The design of this website is pretty creative and perhaps with the best narrow layout I have ever seen. Beautiful from head to toe.
The footer of this website is innovative in its approach to integrate twitter and last.fm into it. Those CD’s actually link to some tracks on Last.fm while the toucans kind of direct your eyes to show what it really is.
It’s just impossible to omit the footer design of 43 Folders when you are talking about footers. It covers lot of space to show you the popular stories, recent comments and forum posts.
The footer is craftily made to remove any need of a Contact Us page. Great idea for a portfolio website like this.
The embedded Google Map showing the location of the office of Banjax makes it quite creative, unique and worthy of mention in this list.
It takes that popular old-page look route we have so much started to love and loathe.
I love Mac Apps, as the name sounds is based on Mac and thus derives that light greyish Mac look. Although a simple footer but scores some points in displaying most information on the homepage. There are links to other pages on the site while what intrigues you most is the use of flash just above to showcase lot of Mac apps.
Creativity with Integrity is their motto and it shows in their footer design. There use of colors on a dark footer background in the logo is cool while there is a use of javascript to create some snowballs which you can see as white dots in the image above.
A lot is upside down in the footer of this French blog. I like the butterfly designs and the glowing touch.
It surely will appeal to those bling loving creatures.
This has one has an interesting illustration which makes it stand out from others.
I like this footer design for its clear icons which don’t get obfuscated to literally glitter under the background color and design. Pretty neat.
That hippopotamus with angel wings is the limelight of this footer which also happens to make it pretty unique and fit for mainly personal blogs. There are no boring blogroll links in this one and instead the logo of the blogroll does the job here and some info about the author at the left.
The footer in this one stands out because you can toggle it on and off. The footer incorporates the Meta and feeds along with last.fm and recent comments widget.
The big websites are less open to experimentation with their footers eecept putting in the links of their other sister websites. Vimeo defies that by putting in the illustration of people making movies and watching movies in the Vimeo style.
When was the last time di you see a search bar in a footer? Well, this website design has the footer in question with related links to Homepage and Contact form etc.
It seems that designer has created the wall of his drawingroom in the footer of this website. There are some links to other stories in the top besides that portrait but it is pretty experimental and we like it for that.
There are some octopuses and an astronaut to populate the footer in this extremely beautiful website. The footer doesn’t solve much of a purpose but looks cool with these tiny creatures.
The footer is although very simple but it’s very neat and distinct with the highly experimental use of colors.
