One of my first post on JustSkins was about Firefox themes and I have continuously showed my love for Firefox in my other posts. I like to try new and different Firefox themes and extensions and it is pretty obvious that I need to restart my Firefox multiple times to do that. I’d really love if Firefox adds a Restart button just like an Operating System. The topic of this post is however regarding the themes and the different ways users try to customize the look of Mozilla Firefox.
I’d use some themes like Camifox or NASA Night Launch but eventually came back to the default one plus the effort of installing new themes again and again was too much. Moreover I felt slight less responsiveness on the part of Firefox for having too many themes installed even when I was only using the default one.
There are however two Firefox extensions which make the use of Firefox theme unnecessary and I am going to talk about them today.
Personas is a light weight theming extension for Firefox which is for some reason not very popular among the Firefox users. Personas allows you to theme Firefox on the go without having to download or install any new theme. You can customize the look of Firefox by selecting the desired Personas theme which will be activated without requiring any restart. Mozilla has not been very attentive towards it and there are very few decent Personas themes that you’d like. I for that matter love the “Developer Kit” and the “Firefox logo” Personas theme which I believe is a reason enough to shed your Firefox off those extra themes and install Personas.
AnyColor is a Firefox extension which allows you to change the color of Firefox into any other and customize it to the way you like. Just like Personas it also enables changing the theme on the go. Anycolor provides aple options and settings to change the interface of Firefox and if you are good at coding then you can create something really cool. The themes available with Anycolor are few and not to everyone’s taste but if you are using this extension then I’d suggest you must try the “Bright Blue Sky” theme.

Update: The Developer Kit theme is not available in the latest update of Personas
Why is the Developers Kit theme not available anymore? I liked it so much. There’s no other theme that’s as much THE firefox persona as the others. It’s just so cute how it looked at me from behind the search bar (._.) It was like Shrek’s cloak-and-sword cat.
There are other people in the internet missing that theme. I even came to a forum’s post where people were asking the same question, like me.
So, please, have a heart and give us back our beloved Developers Kit.
