-1000: Cannot find Acrobat Reader ActiveX control.

I am tring to run an educational CD and am recieving this error on a new Gateway Laptop. Runs fine on other identical laptops. The error box is
PDF Xtra

-1000: Cannot find Acrobat Reader ActiveX control.

with OK as the only option. after clicking OK, I get audio, but no display.

Any help will be appreciated.

And is Acrobat and/or Reader installed on that laptop?

If so what version and what OS is the laptop running.

Yes, it is installed. Version 6.0.1 on an Xp pro laptop.

fyi I just uninstalled adobe 6 and installed 5.0.5 and the program ran correctly. ?????

What is installed, Acrobat or Reader?

You need to contact the makers of the software. They are using
something called PDF.OCX that comes with Acrobat Reader, but which is
not intended for use with other programs. Only they can tell you if
they plan to fix it.
