10D question - Photography

I was just reading that the 10D doesn't have Infrared remote function. How do you do pano shots then? Do you have to push the trigger or is there any other remote thing to shoot the pic? Cheers...

Pardon my ignorance, but what does infrared remote have to do with panoramas? I
mean unless you wish to be in each picture.

Well, you can always buy a "remote shutter release" or what they are called
??? You get them in two versions that I know of; one with about one meter
cable (I've got that one) and one wireless. The last one is probably one for
    you.

    Have you ever done pano's?
If you have done them in wobbling sand, you will know what I'm talking
about. Trying not to push the tripod with the camera on top of it.
The 360 slider here is moving easily; when I hit the trigger, I always
move the camera which sometimes results in distortions.

    Remote shutter release...
That's probably the part I'm after.

    Thanks for that.

Certainly there are ways to stabilize the tripod in the sand. I do agree that it
would be a problem as stated by you, and can see the point.

I have a really light weight little duffle bag I fill with sand (or rocks,
depending on location) and hang it from the bottom of my center post. Sand
is always a PIA. Will follow thread for other suggestions.... kids pales
under the tripod legs, partially buried maybe???
