12-inch Powerbook upgrade questions
Hi,
I'm about to buy a 12-inch Powerbook as a replacement for a Titanium
G4 400 that I currently use. I have a couple of questions before
taking the plunge, however:
- I have three power adapters for my current PB, one yoyo-style and
two of the small, portable ones. I leave one in each of the two
places I work and carry one with me. Can I use these adapters with
the new 12-inch Powerbook or do I need to go out and buy two more.
They're not cheap items, so I'd prefer to use the ones I have,
obviously.
- I'm going to be buying the 12-inch Powerbook with 256 Mb of RAM but
I'd like to upgrade this right away. Can I buy a generic 512 Mb
DDR266 200-pin SODIMM from a PC store for this? I really don't want
to pay a premium at a Mac store for what I suspect is a standard item
unless I really have to.
Thanks,
JS

used Ramseeker? <http://www.ramseeker.com/> It'll tell you exactly what
you need and who has the lowest price.
Enjoy your new Powerbook!

failed at higher speeds. OS X is notoriously sensitive to those kinds
of problems; you get what you pay for. I'd buy a well respected brand
like Kingston but not, as you say, from a Mac reseller if they're going
to gouge you.
