2 >= 2 error msg
I am using MS sql sever 2000. I have no problem connecting to my sql database.
My Coldfusion mx 6.1 program call the following store procedure:
Select pID, pCode, pPicName, PCaption, PNormalPrice, POfferPrice from
MyProduct where PID in(
select pID from MyProduct where freetext(PIndex, @SearchIndex) and
IsPArchieve=0 and PValidFrom is not NULL and PValidTo is not NULL and
@dCurrentDate between PValidFrom and PValidTo union
select pID from MyProduct where freetext(PIndex, @SearchIndex) and
IsPArchieve=0 and PValidFrom is not NULL and PValidTo is NULL and @dCurrentDateselect pID from MyProduct where freetext(PIndex, @SearchIndex) and>= PValidFrom union
IsPArchieve=0 and PValidFrom is NULL and PValidTo is not NULL and @dCurrentDate
<= PValidTo union
select pID from MyProduct where freetext(PIndex, @SearchIndex) and
IsPArchieve=0 and PValidFrom is NULL and PValidTo is NULL
) order by PUpLoadDate Desc
If the SQL variable -SearchIndex contain english word, my program works fine.
If it contain purely symbol such as *&^%$#@!()_+{}:;"' e,g a char such as
* , Coldfusion hang my program & generate the following error msg :
Error Occurred While Processing Request
2 >= 2
I have test the store procedure using MS SQL query Analyzer. I replace the
variable -SearchIndex with symbol (*) , the SQL return no record - most
important it does not hang any program. I suspect the problem is with
coldfusion.
Any ideas ???

Re: 2 >= 2 error msg
Is is possible that the asterisk "*" is acting a wildcard character, and you
are returning all records.
When using the IN operator, you have to make sure you don't return too much
information in your sub-select, as there is a limit to the data it can handle
(not to mention the lack of sped this procedure will have).

Re: 2 >= 2 error msg
Maybe using a CFQUERYPARAM tag in your CFQUERY for your SearchIndex parameter might help.
