2d images - Macromedia Director 3D

Hi, in the opengl there is a method to put in the 3d world some 2d images that respect the dimension with the perspective but they are orientated always in front of the camera (like the sprite of doom that are the enemies and all that isn't the wall). This "sprite" are used, for example, to simulate a star, a glow etc. There is any method to use this "sprite" in director too? tnx -- Love & Peace Respect the Nature...

Hi, Dave. Take a look at camera overlay (addOverlay in the Lingo
dictionary). There are examples at Macromedia´s site and some other
    pages as well.

I already know how the overlay work, but it's not what i want, they are only
"overlay", not 2d sprite that live in a 3d world.
A solution may be a simple plane where i map my image (with alfa channel and
animation) that its normal is direct always in direction of the active
    camera.
But i want know if there are some other solution.

    tnx

There is one: using still particles with alpha texture. Check the
undoc´ed properties of the particles that Brian Robbins posted some time
    ago.

    Good luck,
