2nd Request-Illustrator 10 Constantly Getting Error -140 When Saving as PDF

We are getting an error -140 everytime we try to save a file out of Illustrator 10. If we try to open the file from Acrobat 6 it will not open, but it will open in Acrobat 5.

I can't understand why it is so difficult saving PDF files out of Illustrator 10. Never had this much trouble saving out of Illustrator 9.

No, I'm usually saving to my HD.

Have you done the usual troubleshooting? Trash Adobefnt.lst files,trash preferences (in AI and Acrobat), trash Adobefnt.lst files, repair permissions, check for corrupt fonts.

Other possibilities could be the way you're saving the file. Try different check boxes.

Do you have antivirus software? If so turn it off.

Also I have read of 3rd party RAM problems, but that usually crashes AICS.

Last suggestion is to create a new user profile with Administrative capabilities. If it then works,your user profile is corrupt for some reason or another.

Or try uninstalling Acrobat 5 since you have Acrobat 6? Maybe there's a conflict there?

Where is all the experts in this forum?????

Anyway, I might know more next week. I'm switching to OSX myself and only have Acrobat Reader 5.

I did get .pdf difficulties today, though, but it was when I was trying to open or place a AICS document in AI10.03. And right after AI10 crashed of error 2.
