Here is a PDF showing one way to build a helix brush. Of course, this is 2D, not 3D.

Okay. How about a sort of "semi" 3D double helix? 3D Revolve objects, blended and bound to a path:

    JET,

Could you save it in a lesser version of pdf? Can't seem to view it in 5.0.

Nevermind, just had to download the new reader. JET, did you read my earlier post about the rotation of DNA? I believe given Christopher's job, he would need it to be somewhat accurate. Nice job though. I will have to go out and purchase CS. It seems the 3-D tool would be worth the bugs it still seems to have.

Why not google"digital braiding, pjcassel". This leads you to a
tutorial which certainly shows how to start your illu-thinking
for the solution of your problem.

I was referring to the constant posts about bugs in CS and having to wait for my vendors to switch. It shouldn't be too long before I switch, as the printer I use just purchased CS and so now can I. I always run into problems when saving down, as they always want to make small changes, etc, on some end, that justs snow balls when Illustrator rasterizes everything.

This coiled ribbon effect is exactly what I'm trying to do in CS - how did you do it, Gary? (I need it to go from smaller at the bottom to bigger at the top - like a tornado, swirling effect.)
