3D Effect
Did you know you can apply 3D Effect at the separate Appearance levels? For example:
1. Draw a star path. Magenta Fill, Thick green Stroke.
2. Select the magental fill in the Appearance palette and apply 3D Effect.
3. Select the green stroke in the Appearance palette and apply 3D Effect, but with different settings (for example, turn one 90 degrees relative to the other, or extrude one and revolve the other).
Unfortunately, the result is pretty much the same thing as grouping two individual 3D objects. That is, they don't intesect each other, and they don't necessarily share the same perspective. But still, it's interesting in that you can save the whole mess as a single Style.
