3D object oriented lingo - Macromedia Director 3D

When building a large, possibly templates based project, what would be a better approach? 1. parent-child scripts? 2. lots of behaviuors? In case parent-child scripts is the prefered option, how do i actually use it? director MX 2004 doentation hasn't got explenation for it... are there other sources? thanks in advance, bgsBS...

imho oop would provide greater flexibility. objects reside entirely in memory,
whereas behaviours must be attached to a sprite. actually the mx '04 has pretty
good material on both lingo and javascript syntax object oriented scripting.
open director help, click the contents tab, then director scripting essentials.
you'll see "introduction to object-oriented programming in director",
"object-oriented programming with lingo" and "object-oriented programing with
javascript syntax". personally i use javascript oop because i use it for web
pages. it also provides a solution to referencing w3d object properties w/
javascript syntax, wich can be frustration due to the fact that you often have
to use a convoluted combination of getpropref() and so on to gain access to
properties that are readily available through direct dot syntax via lingo.
