3ds Max bones to director - Macromedia Director 3D

Hi I'm having an issue bringing in bone animation to director from 3dsmax. What happens is that in an animation involving several joints, when brought into director, only the first joint has motion to it. This is driving me mad and I know there has to be a solution to it. BTW I'm bringing in motion in a seperate member and then cloning the motion to the static object and playing it with bonesplayer in lingo....

The bones system has a root node in SW3D.
If you have more than one root node, the result is the loss of animation on
    one of them.
As a workaround, build the systems separately and export them in the same file
(they can be joined later using Lingo)

What do you mean build the systems seperately? Creat on bone then go out of
creation mode. then creat another seperately? If so how would I be able to
animate this? I'm quite new at director 3d so I know very little especially in
the way of this type of thing.

If you use this ( free ) MaxScript exporter, it'll export the bones
    hierarchy for you.

There's an example Shockwave demo further down the page, that shows you
    a hierarchy with animations etc.

BTW de-select the "Using Plasma" option, if you are using 3DS Max.

Is there any particular way I need to set up my bones for this. I did run my scene through this but it didn't seem to change anything.
