3rd NIC killz access speeds
Good morning,
I have two W2k3 servers, one is Server, one is Exchange
2003, that have had two NICs for quite some time now.
One NIC is for the user/data access and the other has
been used strictly for the backups. Using the Intel
PRO1000 MT network card, I enabled a third NIC so we
could set it up as a dedicated RPC over HTTP proxy port
for remote e-mail checking.
Whenever the third port is enabled, file and e-mail
access by LAN users slows to a crawl. I do not have
default gateways entered for any but one of the NICs, and
I have disabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP on the other two
ports as well. Does anyone know why my servers lose it
when three NICs are enabled?
Many thanks,
Baba
