64-bit Vista?
Is Microsoft planning to release a 64-bit version of Vista? There has been
no specific mention of this in any press materials released to date.

Re: 64-bit Vista?
Yes, they will release a 64-bit version as well as 32-bit. They should both
be released at the same time I believe. I've even heard rumors that the
32-bit version and the 64-bit version will be combined in one disc, but
that's just a rumor - I don't know for sure.

Re: 64-bit Vista?
Yes, there will be 64 bit Editions of Windows Vista except for Windows
Starter 2007 which will remain 32-bit. The 64-bit version is currently
available Technical Testers, MSDN and Technet Subscribers.

Two Corrections (with your Statement) are Required: for MSDN (All except
MSDN Library Subscriber's), and for Technet (Technet Plus Subscriber's

Re: 64-bit Vista?
Thank you. This is one the reasons I'm even thinking about upgrading to
Vista. The other two are built-in support for IPv6 and HD video. If
Microsoft reneges on any or all of these, I guess I'll being using my
current XP setup for the next five years(or at least until I master Linux).
:)
