85% hang problem

We're having the same problem (Contribute 3.1) and have more info which may
shed light on the problem for the Contribute development team. I can 100%
reproduce the hang problem when trying to edit a page. Here is the background
info 1. We use contribute to edit/publish pages to a staging (test) website
configured as a website in IIS, NOT a virtual directory of the default website
(Windows 2000, 4GB Ram, Dual 1.8GHz processors). 2. When I have the 'Directory
Security > Anonymous access and authentication control > Edit > Anonymous
Access' checked (allowing anonymous access to the website), we have no
problems. 3. When I have the 'Directory Security > Anonymous access and
authentication control > Edit > Anonymous Access' UNchecked (disallowing
anonymous access to the website) and 'Integrated Windows authentication'
checked, the problem happens 100% of the time. We do this so that the world
can't view our staging website, (which is on the same server as the production
website) but employees can access it via user/pass from home. 4. The client
machine using Contribute is 1GB Ram, 3GHz, Windows XP Pro. The FTP login
information does not change in (2) and (3) above. It seems like Contribute is
using user/permissions to write the local copy of the draft which are different
than the actual user/permissions of the person logged in at the local
machine??? ChrisV

Hi,
I'm refreshing an old thread here. I'm having the same 85% hang problem with
Contribute 3 on a Mac running OSX 10.4.3. I guess I had it before, but here I'm
publishing a page with close to 400 pictures. The pictures are 15k big, so the
page must weigh less than 6 MB, butit's taking 7 '20" to upload each picture
(I'm connected with DSL 2MB), which means that it's going to take 38 hours
total...
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
