<A href=...">Flash button</A> - Adobe Dreamweaver & Contribute

hi: i've been asked to make some changes in a site where the designer used a Flash button made with DW MX (Insert > Interactive images > Flash button). it appears on a lot of pages and has a link to an ASP page now i need to know wich zone of the site that ASP page has been called from. as HTTP_REFERER is unreliable and trying to avoid having a lot of buttons with differents links: id.asp?zone=a, id.asp?zone=b, ... i eliminated the Flash link and added a HTML link: <A href="id.asp?zone=a"> <OBJECT classid="clsid 27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" ... <EMBED src="comprar.swf" width="100" height="20" ...

    Default <A href=...">Flash button</A>

    hi:

    i've been asked to make some changes in a site where the designer used a
    Flash button made with DW MX (Insert > Interactive images > Flash
    button). it appears on a lot of pages and has a link to an ASP page

    now i need to know wich zone of the site that ASP page has been called
    from. as HTTP_REFERER is unreliable and trying to avoid having a lot of
    buttons with differents links: id.asp?zone=a, id.asp?zone=b, ... i
    eliminated the Flash link and added a HTML link:

    <A href="id.asp?zone=a">
    <OBJECT classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
    ...

    <EMBED src="comprar.swf" width="100" height="20" align="right"
    ...
    </EMBED>
    </OBJECT>
    </A>

    in Mac it works in IE. in other browsers does nothing despite the URL
    appears in the status bar when the mouse is over the button. any
    workaround apart from asking the designer to change the button to images
    with a rollover?

    OSX 10.3.8
    IE 5.2
    NN 7.2, FireFox 1.0, Safari 1.2.4

    TIA,

    manuel

    It's not going to work - sorry. Other browsers just will not recognize that
    as a link.
