    Default AA8Pro - enabling Reader user to fill and save filled form?

    On this page:

    <http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/matrix.html>

    It is clearly stated that Acrobat 8 Pro user can "Enable Adobe Reader users to fill and save PDF forms locally for offline use".

    I tried to find in the guide and by trying various settings how to do it but with no luck so far.

    I would appreciate some serious guidance in the matter.

    Anyway - I found the answer myself.

    With form open click on Advanced and select "Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader".

    Checked and it works great when filling such enabled form in Reader 7.

    Same with another great feature - in Tools -> Typewriter -> Enable Typewrtiter Tool in Adobe Reader.

    Absolutely great features, I only wish we had them in earlier versions too, it would save me and my clients a lot of hassle.

    One thing still puzzles me, though. I've recently installed a Mac version of Acrobat Pro 7. Under Acrobat 7.0.8, I tried to find information regarding the typewriter tool feature in the Acrobat Help Menu under Search and Index and found nothing to describe this feature. As well, whenever I try to make a button in Acro Pro 7 using the Button Tool and include text on the button, I get an active button but no text, even though all appearances features have been checked and used in the same manner under Acro Pro v.6. Any thoughts on the possible problem?

    Found the problem regarding the type and Button Tool issue. In the Button tool pop-up menu, under the Options tab, I need to fill the Label area with the word, not just assume that once the title is entered in the General tab area that this will create a label. Still can't find information on the Typewriter Tool/Toolbar, though.

    The typewriter tool was not included in any update to the main
    documentation, since it was a feature added in 7.0.5. You can find the
    information on it in the 7.0.5 Readme file.
