Absolute vs. Relative Paths?
I load up CS3 version of DW.
Using; Links relative to: "Document" NOT "Site root"
Steps to reproduce the problem / fault:
Open a page add a form, file field and save it.
Create an "uploads" folder for my images, make it writable.
I open DMXzone Pure upload(any one of them) and select "Browse..." to select
the folder
I get this "../../sites/php_upload/uploads"
I have to physically change it to this "uploads"
So where is the problem / fault:; Dreamweaver? or DMXzone?

Here is an idea;

How to fix this?
What do I have to change? A file, a set of files, A setting, what?
Cheers

Re: Absolute vs. Relative Paths? Another EPIC FAIL by Adobe.
The problem is, after 3 or 4 iterations of Dreamweaver (CS3, CS4, CS5), Adobe STILL CANNOT understand how (or why) users want (need) all image paths to be 'absolute' automatic by design.
Here's an example:
Let's say I'm creating a listing on eBay, and I want to design my own description and host all the images within that description from my own website... therein lies the problem, because the site is eBay, but the images will be on my server (absolute path). When I design the content to be pasted into eBay's listing 'description' section, all my images will be absolute, so a 'base' tag will NOT work.
This scenario is far more common than Adobe seems to comprehend. After all, this IS the web, so a LOT of links and images are naturally going to be 'absolute'... especially on social media, etc.
I'm sure glad I haven't paid $700, $900, and $1300 for a 'web design suite' that cannot even insert absolute image paths without forcing me to enter each one -by hand-. GET A CLUE ADOBE.Unregistered Guest
