Access Database on Unix Server (Suse 9..) - Dreamweaver AppDev

How do you get a Access Databae loaded onto a Unix Server ? (Suse 9.1) It keeps asking to set up a testing server. Then converts the web page to ASP extension. I really have no Idea how to set all this up? What do I need to enter? Please some one help!...

AFAIK, you can't. An access DB needs to be hosted on a windows machine.

Your best bet would be to export your data out of Access and into MySQL.

MySQL runs on numerous servers, including SUN Solaris and Windows. Go to
http://www.mysql.com to download it for free. Export your data in MS-Access to
a comma delimited file and import it into MySQL or you could alternatively use
a tool like NaviCat (http://www.navicat.com) to directly port the data from
MS-Access to MySQL.

Kind regards,

I have no record of previous responses to this thread, but I'd ask if there
is a reason that this really needs to be stuck as an Access database? Can
you export it into MySQL?
