Access Denied when sending for review
One of my users is getting an "Access Denied" message when attempting to send
for review. I've verified that they have permission to read, write, modify and
delete on the folder access, and their role is set up to allow publishing and
deleting. What else could it be?

Re: Access Denied when sending for review
According to technical support all users need read/write access to all folders of the site.

Re: Access Denied when sending for review
Is there a technical note or something online that explains that? I don't see
what the point is of using a content management system and roles if you have to
open up access for everyone to everywhere. My users have full access to all
pages that they need to edit and read access to the rest of the site.

Re: Access Denied when sending for review
Chapter 2 of the "Deploying Contribute and Contribute Publishing Server" guide
seems to have the best overview of permissions, and I agree with you that it
does seem odd having to give read/write access to the whole site at the OS
level, and then restricting access with Contribute's security. But it does make
things easier: one OS security group for all Contribute users with read write
access means you don?t have to go and deal with it folder by folder. I started
off with the model you describe and then had to change it.

Re: Access Denied when sending for review
I'm not sure I understand the document completely, since it kept referring to
subsites but I only have one site. It looks like it uses the folders _mm and
MMWIP at the root level for the review process. Would it be enough to give
users access to those folders?
It will never fly around here to give full access to the entire site to all
users even though they are restricted within Contribute. There's nothing to
stop users from accessing the wrong folders outside of Contribute.

Re: Access Denied when sending for review
Have you had a look at the Connection/Administration topic "Contribute permissions vs. network permissions"?

Re: Access Denied when sending for review
I've read everything about permissions in "Deploying Contribute and Contribute
Publishing Server", but it gave no additional light to the situation. Is there
some other document that has the info you're referencing?

Re: Access Denied when sending for review
We provide all of our users access to the _mm folder and MMWIP folder at the root of the site and now "Send for Review" works.
