    Default access97 to 2000, now can't connect

    hey peoples.

I have a small application that uses an access 97 Dbase to store the data. I
have access 2000 on my machine and all my other apps use 2000.

When I open the 97 table I have the option to upgrade this to 2000, I need
to do this otherwise I can't edit the table...so I thought, "sure, I can do
    that"

Problem is I now get the error

The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '\11435\11435.mdb'.
It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to
    view its data.
    /11435/guestbook.asp, line 9

    line 9 = blah blah "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data
    Source="&Server.MapPath("gb11435.mdb")

a line which works fine in my other apps...

    any suggestions please?

    many thanks

This is a permissions problem. Adjust the NTFS permissions for the folder in
question, and give the anonymous Internet User account (IUSR_<machinename>),
Read, Write and Execute permissions to the folder, and all files contained
    within.

The upgrade would have done a compact-n-repair in the background, resulting
in the creation of a new file, just with the same name as the old file. In
the process the NTFS permissions might have changed.

    Cheers
