[ACR6,7][10.3.9] Acrobat keeps creating printers...

Since a little while ago (i think after i deleted all my printers in the print utility, another story...) i have not been able to print in Acrobat 6 or 7. I get the regular print dialog but it says "No printer selected" and there is nothing in the list but the Rendezvous Printers item which expands to show my networked hp 5100tn. When i select this, Acrobat pops up saying "Creating Printer..." and then goes back to having no printer selected. This will happen as many times as i try it and it makes new printer references w/o using them.

What's going on? - reinstalled, ran crons, fixed permissions, no luck!

Does the printer show in an Appletalk zone? Can you add the printer via IP?

have the printer as AppleTalk and through Rendezvous - they show up in the print manager ... all other apps will print.
