Re: Acrobat 5.x crash during cropping
Ah - so you guessed I'm tired ;-)
OK - so what OS 9.x are you running? Hope it's not the dread 9.0X? If so
then you need to jump to 9.1 or above.
Your errors seem to be related to memory .... how about cropping one
page of the Acrobat HELP guide?
If this still bombs, with OS 9.1x> and with trashing your prefs then I
would recommend a fresh install:
http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/2a092.htm
(if memory serves me - you might have to manually place port 80 (:80)
after the 'adobe.com')
If this problem still persists then I would recommend a disk utility to
check your current disk situation.

Re: Acrobat 5.x crash during cropping
Hello, a coworker of mine had this issue, and what it was was
a corrupt system font. So, we replaced her system fonts with a new uncorrupt set, which included the following - Adobe Seriff MM, Adobe Sans MM, Arial, Arial Black, Arial Narrow, Arial Rounded Bold, charcoal, Chicago, Courier, Courier New, Geneva, Georgia, Monaco, New York, Palatino, Symbol, Tahoma, Webdings, Wingdings, Zapf Dingbats. The only fonts that are postscript are Adobe Serif, Adobe Sans and Zapf Dingbats.
Give it a try, and good luck!

Re: Acrobat 5.x crash during cropping
All good suggestions.
JON: I am running 9.2.2 and the other machine in question is running OSX.X JAGUAR and (the problem exists in classic). My disk checks out and is great shape...nortons.
JENNIFER: The font idea is interesting but in our particular situation very unlikely : ( possible but...??) The problem has plagued us for several months (year??) and we just installed a brand new factory fresh font set 3 months ago and the problem is stil exists. I installed Acrobat 5.x fresh on my machine.
Someone pointed out to me..that acrobat does not list 9.2x in its Acrobat 5x compatibility ? I can't imagine this is actual an issue but minor oversight.
Any other thoughts????
Rick : ))

Re: Acrobat 5.x crash during cropping
Rick,
Acrobat 5 works from OS 8.5 (without web functionality) up to 9.2.2 in
Classic and then right up to the latest 10.3.4 in OSX.
OK - you mention about minimal plug-ins - HOLD the SHIFT KEY down upon
boot ... will it crop now?
