Acrobat 6.0 for Macintosh drops form data when attached to email
Created this form w/ Designer 7 in Windows, saved as compatible PDF for Adobe 6.0 and emailed as attachment for delivery to end user who is using Adobe 6.0 Professional on a Mac (updated to 6.0.5).
When attaching to a message in Mail, the data is cleared and a blank form is attached. Even if I attach it to Yahoo webmail, the data is cleared from the form. It does not behave this way on the PC.
Access to a Mac w/ Acrobat 7.0 Pro is not available, I don't think that's the issue b/c the form can be opened and filled in and saved. When it's attached to an email it strips the data. WHY!!!?

Re: Acrobat 6.0 for Macintosh drops form datawhen attached to email
The form contents are not stripped out = but only display that way once
in-line within the email application(s) ....
Have you tested thoroughly?

Re: Acrobat 6.0 for Macintosh drops form datawhen attached to email
I used Mail and as soon as the pdf file is attached, the preview is seen in the new message and it shows none of the data entered. The recipient of the sent message gets a blank form w/ no xml attachment.
Even if I drag and drop the file into the Mail app, it doesn't display data. Do I need Entourage on the Mac?
The same happens for yahoo webmail. As soon as the file is attached, the data goes away.
The form was made in Designer 7 on a PC and saved as compatible for Acrobat 6.0.

Have you tried stuffing it before sending?

Re: Acrobat 6.0 for Macintosh drops form datawhen attached to email
Rick,
Email the PDF to yourself and then open in Acrobat - do not worry
yourself about the in-line view in the mail application for now

Re: Acrobat 6.0 for Macintosh drops form datawhen attached to email
Well I did email it to myself every which sort of way, and I get a blank form. I tried on the PC, and it worked without a hitch. This leads me to suspect compatibility issues??
Does it matter if I save it as a dynamic or static pdf?

Re: Acrobat 6.0 for Macintosh drops form datawhen attached to email
Well, if dynamic then Adobe Reader 7.0.5 should be used to render the form.
Static needs Adobe Reader 6.0 or above ...
One more question - when YOU received the PDF do you open in Acrobat?
Jon
If none of the above, please outline the procedure from the form fill-in
process

Re: Acrobat 6.0 for Macintosh drops form datawhen attached to email
The form is opened by Acrobat 6.0.5 Pro on a Mac Mini running Tiger. It is filled in, saved, and printed. The data really saves because if you close the pdf document and reopen it, the data is there.
When you attach the pdf file to a new email message in Mail or Yahoo webmail, the preview of the form shows no data. I send the message anyway and the recipient of the email gets the pdf form without any data. This does not happen when doing the same thing on a Windows PC.
I'm not highly proficient in Mac and don't fully understand the built-in pdf support for Tiger.
Remember that the form was created w/ Designer 7 for PC and opened on a Mac running Acrobat 6.0.5 Professional.
