Default Acrobat 6.0 Pro crashes when trying to use the Email Button

Acrobat 6.0 Professional crashes every time I have tried to use the Email Button (to send the PDF file as an email attachment).

The email client (Novell GroupWise 6.5) launches after Acrobat crashes, but does not include the PDF file as an attachment. The PDF file is a simple 1 page form with no raster images. Acrobat will then not start until the host system (Windows NT 4) is rebooted.

This method is central to a proposed new workflow for our entire office, but may have to be scrapped due to this problem.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Default Re: Acrobat 6.0 Pro crashes when trying to use the Email Button

I am not very good at this aspect, but one aspect that I think is correct is that the e-mail client has to be a MAPI client on the system for the transfer to work. It sounds like it sort of is, but there may be a link issue here with the client.

Also, be sure that any PDF attachment is encoded as binary (like MIME), otherwise the mail may send it as straight ASCII and you will get a corrupt file. A PDF file is not ASCII, though the first few characters are and they can be used to identify the level of the PDF.
