Acrobat 6.0 Standard upgrade from Acrobat 4.0 in Windows 98
Acrobat 4.0 has always worked just fine on my Toshiba Satellite laptop (Pentium 2/350, 64Mb RAM, 2.3 Gb free diskspace) running Windows 98 (4.10.1998). Yesterday I bought the Acrobat 6.0 Standard Upgrade and attempted to install from the CD. Big problem. The install wizard starts up OK, but after the second pane, it displays the following in an Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard Installer Information window: "This operating system is not supported by the installation. Setup will quit now." The only option is to click OK and quit the installation. How can Acrobat 4.0 be perfectly happy with Win98, but Acrobat 6.0 won't even go near it? Any help with this upgrade problem will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Acrobat 6.0 Standard upgrade from Acrobat 4.0 in Windows 98
According to the system requirements of Acrobat 6 Standard you require Win98 Second Edition. What you have is not that.

It is time to bite the bullet and buy a new Operating System. In fact, with that spec if may be worthwhile buying a cheap PC.

Same reason Windows 3.1 ran great on my 486-SX16 with 4MB of RAM, but XP won't install.
