Acrobat 6.0 Std compatibility problem w/ MacBook Pro?
I have Adobe Acrobat Standard 6.0. I recently transferred
all my files, applications, etc. from my Mac Powerbook G4 to my new Intel-chip
MacBook Pro (OS X 10.4.7) via a firewire cable as instructed in the
manual that came with my new laptop. I have Microsoft Office X and have
been able to convert Word documents to pdf files in the past. Now,
however, when attempting to convert a document to a pdf file, I get the
following message, "PDFMaker could not find all the required components.
Please relaunch Acrobat to install the missing components." I don't
know what "relaunch" means other than quit and re-open the application,
but re-opening Acrobat didn't solve the problem, so I tried downloading
the available updates to see if that would fix the problem. I was able
to download AcrobatBasePackage_all to install version 6.0.1, but when I
click on the installer file (AcrobatBasePackage_all.dmg), it opens the
Vise Installer window and my pointer starts spinning as if it's trying
to install, but nothing happens. I have to Force Quit (the Force Quit
menu says the application is not responding). Is 6.0.1 not
compatible with the new MacBook Pro? Is the 6.0 Standard version that I
have on the machine now not compatible with the new Intel chip Mac? Does anyone know how to make the program work again on the MacBook?

Re: Acrobat 6.0 Std compatibility problem w/ MacBook Pro?
Adobe have not released any software supported on Intel macs. Not
even the latest 7.0 is supported, though by and large it seems to
work.
