You are putting in the SECOND CS installation CD?

    Are you running 6.0.1 already?

What is the exact error message?

Go to <http://www.adobe.com/support/products/acrobat.html> - that is Adobe's knowledgebase for Acrobat. Type in "acropro.msi" (without quotes) as your search. I think the third doc will have your answer.

    Nope
tried everything (reinstall, different cd roms, copied acropro.msi to hd, removal of the cd drivers ..) ...
the error comes after I point the update to the location of acropro.msi

Have you tried removing Acrobat 6 and reinstalling it (and the update) from the desktop, in VGA mode for good measure?

You are trying to install Acrobat directly, from a CS CDROM, with the
CS serial number? That won't work. You have to run the CS installer.
