Acrobat 7.0 Font Problem
Version: Acrobat 7.0.8.
OS: OS X 10.4.8
Machine: PowerMac G5 Quad 2.5GHz
Memory: 2.5GB
I have created a large PDF file (300 pages) and I am having issues with loosing the fonts i have already embedded on pages when they are replaced in the document. I have created the seperate files in illustrator and saved them as PDFs to import into Acrobat.
I own the fonts I am having a problem with (EurofaceHeavy, EurofaceHeavyItalic). I don't know if there is a problem with the font, as it works correctly in all of the other graphic programs that I use. I had encountered this problem the last time I needed to edit this file, and the problem seemed to be caused by a swatch in my illustrator files. Once I removed that swatch, the files imported with the fonts without any issues at all. But now that this problem is happening again, I do not know what is causing it. The pages I have not replaced still display the correct font, it is only the pages that are being replaced that show the default fonts.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Acrobat 7.0 Font Problem
I am not sure that I completely understand your workflow.
You create individual pages in Illustrator and then merge/combine them in Acrobat. Yes?
Why not use InDesign to handle your multiple page document? You could even link each page to an AI file (if you didn't want to use ID itself to edit the page!) and then create the PDF from there?

Re: Acrobat 7.0 Font Problem
The problem I am having is not in creating the PDF, that is already done. The problem is the fonts that are already embedded in the PDF are showing up as the default fonts in the pages I replace in the PDF, even thought they are the same font. The pages i have not replaced are still showing the correct font.
I have opened both the PDF's that are correct and the ones that are not correct to verify all the font information is exactly the same, and they are. But if I open a PDF that is showing up correctly, and make no changes to it, and save it and open it in Acrobat the default fonts will be used. This is the problem that I am unable to resolve.

Re: Acrobat 7.0 Font Problem
HOW are you verifying this font information? Using Acrobat's Font panel? Using Acrobat preflight? other?
When you say you "replaced the pages",do you mean Document->Replace Pages or something else? Please be specific.
Again, trying to understand waht you are doing and what you are seeing.
If you want to email me the PDFs that's fine too.
