Default Acrobat 7.0 Professional will not update...

I've tried to update this version to something higher everyway i could think of and I keep getting the message, "the selected application's version is outside the range that can be updated with this installer." I tried to update directly from acrobat and this message appears, as well as when i tried to download the updates directly from adobe's website. Every time, the same message appeared. I even tried to download every update sequentially from 7.01 to 7.08 and every one does not work. I have no idea what is going on and I would very much like to update this program. The other topics that had this issue never seemed to be resolved, so if anyone knows what is going on, your help will be greatly apprieciated.

Click on about Acrobat in the Acrobat menu. and look in the fine print at one of the bottom corners of the box. See what the version is. if its 7.0.8 you already are updated. if not you need only to update starting at versions above what version you have. 7.0.5 was actually a total install of a new application and everything instead of just patches. Go to Adobe's website and locate the 7.0.5 update file. Install that then do the other installs through the help menu. After you open it. use Stuffit to archive the old install or make a zip archive through the finder menus., Because the 7.0.5 updater installs a completely new folder.
