Default Acrobat 7 for Windows vs. Macintosh

Does anyone know of a comparison showing the differences between Acrobat 7 for Windows and Acrobat 7 for Macintosh? I know that some features are missing in the Macintosh version.

If you're an heavy MS office user, get the windows version. Main thing is that the pdfmaker on windows maintain links and allow you to open Office files in Acrobat.

The Pro version for Windows also comes with the Form designer, so if you're into your pdf forms, choose the windows version.

If you mainly using proper layout tools, then get the mac version.

That's a Total Disgrace to have to recommend the PC version over the Mac version to get something that will work like it should in both versions?

There should be parity of features in Both. the Great features in Mac should be in the Windoze version and the Great Features in the Windoze version should be in the Mac version. If there is nothing equal to VBA/ActiveX on Mac translate them to apple script. Surely there should be an easy Apple script way of turning all links blue with underline automatically.

Once you get the code base the same and both then all the different research groups need to work on is interface differences, key mappings, and use of Apple script as opposed to VBA/Active-X; which is far safer to use anyway.

    Hi,

I have Acrobat 6.0 (can't recall if Standard or Professional) and need to install on a Mac where I use MSWord a lot.

Will it install and function ok on a Mac? I'm hoping not to have to purchase a "Mac" version of 6.0.

    Thanks.

It will if it's the Mac version. But only if.
If you are giving up a PC license, and uninstalling from the PC, you
might be able to buy what is called a "crossgrade"; you'd have to
contact Adobe Customer Services about that.
