Acrobat 7 Professional on Mac and on PC
We're currently switching over from using PCs (Windows 2000) to Macs (OSX Tiger) with CS2. The interface of Acrobat 7 Professional on the PC is way different-looking from the Mac. The little bit of time I've been able to spend thus far on the Mac version has been frustrating because the PC version has become second nature and I don't know where to find some of my settings. Does anyone know of a tutorial that compares both versions?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Re: Acrobat 7 Professional on Mac and on PC
I think if I had more time to spend exploring I wouldn't feel so lost. Unfortunately, I've had to try to get up to speed really quickly!
Here's an example:
On the PC, when I have an odd-sized document that I have to re-pdf for some reason, I choose print, then click the Properties tab after choosing the Adobe PDF printer, from the Properties tab, I click Paper/Quality, then Advanced, and choose PostScript Custom Page Size to enter in the correct dimensions. I'm not sure if this can be done on the Mac version from the print menu, which is fine, except that I haven't found where to change the document size.

Re: Acrobat 7 Professional on Mac and on PC
This isn't really a difference in Acrobat, but a general difference in
operating system print dialogs. Acrobat is designed to look familiar
to someone who already knows the print dialogs on their current
system.
On the PC, indeed, the path you follow after clicking "Properties" is
nothing to do with Acrobat: it is provided by the printer driver. A
different printer will offer different choices, often radically
(though most PostScript printers will be similar, but not all allow
custom sizes).
You really do need to know your way around a Mac print dialog, or
things will get very confusing. Especially the "PDF" button, which
doesn't use Acrobat at all. The Mac printer dialog style isn't to have
a single Properties button, but to have a series of pulldowns.
HOWEVER, the Mac standard for selecting media size is to do it using
File > Page setup before using File > Print.
Confusing, but you soon get used to it.

Re: Acrobat 7 Professional on Mac and on PC
I recommend that you pick up a good book on Mac OS X to make the transition. I recommend David Pogue's Mac OS X Tiger: The Missing Manual.
