    Default Acrobat 8 Not Printing

Hi, we can't print any PDF files from non Intel Macs, all Intel are fine using Acrobat 8! Acrobat 7 and Preview both print as normal.

Strangely, if 'Print as Image' is selected it works, although Black text is not clear due to it being made of CMYK.

Anyone have a suggestion or is it a major bug?

    Very interesting...

There were changes in Acro8 in the printing support for MacOS 10.4.x (Tiger), but they were tested and validated on both Intel and PPC. Very strange.

I'll report it and see what I hear...

What does this mean? Can you provide steps to reproduce?

I try to translate the steps out my German Acrobat version:
    1. Go to the menu "printing".
    2. Activate into the third folding window the second submenue.: Layout.
    3. Pages per page: 2
    4. Activate duplex printing.
    5. Print
    6. Display on the printer displays: Receipt.
    7. The message receipt leaves.
    8. Acrobat did not print.

If I click to "more options..." in the printing menu..., "print as picture..." activate, then "Acrobat" prints correctly. Unfortunately with much longer print time and in no good quality.

I tried different options in these Menu with no results.
Also the same adjustments as in "Acrobat 7" did not bring anything.

We have had a few users with HP printers complaining about Acrobat 8
not printing to the printer. Printing as an image, rasterizes the pdf
file on the computer and sends the raster image to the printer. Under
Windows you can choose to use a driver to a clone postscript or the HP
image language, usually one driver or the other driver will work. I
don't know if that is possible on the Mac OS X side of things.

    Hi Mike,
My current driver for the ColorLaserJet 8500DN is the version 10.4. and PPD-Fileversion 5.4.2.012

I tried it with other drivers, also with the older HP version and it brought only error messages, "this driver operated not with these printer ..."

I installed the current driver again.

My statement: It must be a problem with Acrobat 8,0 because other applications (Microsoft Office 2004, VectorWorks CAD ...) function perfectly.
