Acrobat 8 Pro crashes when customizing toolbars

    We have 10 Macs in our pre-press department and have the same issue on ALL OF THEM. We also hate the new tool bar being in the document window like it was MS Word. It worked better when it was detached and we pre-press people would like it detached again too.

    I can customize the toolbars without problem. I'd suggest looking for a
    corrupt preference file or perhaps one with the wrong permissions. As to
    the old way of handling tools, I can detach the tools from the document
    window. Just drag them off or on if you prefer them there.

    I've had no problems customizing toolbars on three Macs with Adobe Acrobat 8.1.2. I'd experiment with removing Acrobat's preferences, as Mike suggested.
