Acrobat changing the urls i set in buttons
Using Acrobat 7 i have created buttons on a document to load webpages. The buttons are invisible placed over the text of the url. Now in this instance the url on the pdf was incorrect (said .co.uk instead of .org.uk) and so i wanted the button to link to the correct url. Why is it that when i check the buttons functionality Acrobat is predicting the url and pointing it to the wrong .co.uk address instead of the .org.uk address specified in the button link box????? Any ideas most gratefully appreciated!

Re: Acrobat changing the urls i set in buttons
A new feature to Acrobat 7 is the ability to detect URLs in the live text.
Have you patched to Acrobat 7.0.8?

Matt,
In General preferences, uncheck Automatically Detect URLs from Text.

Re: Acrobat changing the urls i set in buttons
Remember, this only affect YOU as a user ... by default, all other
receipients will by default (unless they change it like yourself) see
the in-line email address which Acrobat shows in the tooltip ...
Just so you're aware ...
Jon
PS - you should find it works in Acrobat 8 ..

Is there any way to create a pdf that would not allow Auto Detect of URLs and e-mail addresses?

Re: Acrobat changing the urls i set in buttons
I have been able to make outlines of the type within the PDF using Pitstop. I then use the link tool to make a hotbox over the URL. If the URL has a hyphen in it, it will add a local path from my computer in front of the hotlink. This is not good. I guess no way around this?
Thanks,
Clay

Re: Acrobat changing the urls i set in buttons
Hi Clay,
Good to see you using Enfocus Pitstop 7's new feature of outlining - if
you colour these links in a slightly different colour, you can generate
an Action List to find this colour and then convert to outlines - might
save you time?
Select Text Segments
Select colour range (or colour space)
Convert to Outlines
On the link front with the local path - have you tried Acrobat 8 for
your specific use? I just tried a web-site of one of my clients -
http://www.con-form.com - this works a treat in Acro 8 ...
