Acrobat CS won't install with CS Premium
The Problem: I have just installed CS Premium and Acrobat didn't install with the rest of the suite.
Most likely problem that I can think of: I was prompted to uninstall Acrobat 5.0, which I did. The one thing that I didn't do was to reboot after uninstalling. Maybe the attempt to install before reboot is causing Adobe to not install?
Things I have tried: I have tried uninstalling the entire suite and then reinstalling. The installer doesn't even create an acrobat folder in my Program Files/Adobe folder. I have even tried to use "System Restore" to set the state of my computer to a pre-installation version, but that didn't work either. I have tried adding the program after the rest of the suite is installed. Nothing seems to work.
My system-- Windows XP on a P4, 2.somthing Ghz, 1 gig RAM, 50 GB free on hard drive.
Anyone know how to get around this?

Re: Acrobat CS won't install with CS Premium
Make sure ABSOLUTELY nothing else is running when you install,
especially anti-virus software.

Re: Acrobat CS won't install with CS Premium
Aandi
thanks for replying.
I actually did this. Forgot to mention it. I checked some other messages in the forum and tried rebooting with everything off (used MSCONFIG to reboot without anything else running). I also tried copying the install files to my HD (another suggestion that was made). No effect for either attempt.
any other ideas?

Re: Acrobat CS won't install with CS Premium
If you currently have the rest of CS installed then.
Start > Run type msconfig and hit OK.
Select the Startup tab and choose Disable All
Restart your machine. You will caome across a couple of messages on reboot - just accept/ignore them.
Install Acrobat only, by selecting a custom install from the CS Installer.
If this works then go back to the msconfig step and select Enable All and restart machine.
CS Installations can be very messy. I guess this is what happens when you cut corners by writing a new installer to take the place of 5 individual ones.

As much as I hate so say it, call Adobe tech support. I have had some bad experiences with CS installations - they can be a real pain.
