Default Acrobat Distiller and Dual Processor..

    Hi

Im thinking of buying a new PC for processing outputs to Pdf. When i run my indesign script i print something around 4000 PDF´s, and i need to know if its worth bying a dual processor system (opteron, AthlonXP, Xeon or several mono Processor computers.

Does anyone Knows something about this? Is there any spec. paper about this? (anyone from adobe can help me?)

    Thanks a lot!!!!

P.S: by the way, does indesign (2.0 or CS) support Dual processor?

Default Re: Acrobat Distiller and Dual Processor..

Very few programs are improved by dual processors. Mainly it is
Photoshop, because it can split repetitive tasks over multiple
processors. Tools like Acrobat, Distiller and most parts of InDesign
    cannot benefit.

Dual processors are really for people who want to run two processes at
the same time. Or, who want to run one heavyweight process, and keep
the system responsive at the time.
