Acrobat Distiller Printer Doesn't Install With Windows 2000

I'm running into the problem mentioned in Adobe Support Knowledgebase
Document #327002 - "Acrobat Distiller Printer Doesn't Install with Acrobat (5.x on Windows XP and 2000)" using Adobe 6.0 Standard.

However, none of the fixes described in the article seem to apply. I do not have a System Restore tab (on any of my Win2K machines), my Path is properly set, and the file framedyn.dll (mentioned as the primary issue in the article) exists in the System32/Wbem folder (although it does not appear in teh System32/dllcache folder).

Has anyone seen this problems on Win2K? Anyone have any other ideas besides what is mentioned in article #327002?

Any ideas/assistance appreciated..

Having just reread what you've written, it is worth pointing out that there is no Acrobat Distiller with Acrobat 6.

You should have an Adobe PDF printer which is the same thing.

Thank you George. I had the same question as Rene and wondered if not what you said above could be true, so you answered my unasked question. Have any idea why they combined it in 6.0 (which is a glorius release)?

Combined what?
Adobe pdf printer is the saem thing as the Distiller printer, just the name is different.

They didn't combine the Acrobat Distiller application and the Acrobat Distiller printer. You still get the Distiller app and the printer has been renamed to Adobe PDF.
