Re: Acrobat Feedback Page.
thanks. Whether they listen or not, is to be seen.
I'm tired of being held hostage to the use of Safari only to use the browser Plugin.

Re: Acrobat Feedback Page.
Have you tried the 'PDF download' extension for Firefox?
It doesn't open the pdf within the browser window on mac, but allows you to choose what to do when clicking on a pdf link (save to disk, open pdf or view as html).

Re: Acrobat Feedback Page.
Thanks! I've already filled out this form.
I'm not holding my Breath. Adobe and Intuit are bad about not paying attention to their customers "needs".
Problem is that The adobe browser Plugin Feature did work for OS9; it still does for all of the Windows Platform. Its only OSX that its Limited to Safari. Safari, is the"only" browser that uses the technology it uses.
Mozilla
FireFox
SeaMonkey
OmniWeb
Opera
iCab
Are all based on the same technology.
I maintain a Website for a service association and we make extensive use of PDF's on our site. So I need a way to preview the items to make sure they are viewed correctly. I don't want to have to Crank up FireFox or Seamonkey to see everything else and the crank up Safari (which I don't like) just to view my PDF's

Re: Acrobat Feedback Page.
pJonesCET;
Actually, there's another Browser that uses Webkit like Safari - Shiira:
<http://hmdt-web.net/shiira/en>
Have you tried the Shubert-It PDF Browser plug-in:
<http://www.schubert-it.com/pluginpdf/webdev/>
It actually works quite well with both Gecko based browsers (Mozilla, Firefox, et al) and Webkit based browsers (Safari, Shiira) and rarely quits during download.
We've found that Adobe's Acrobat Browser plug-ins are usually quite slow and have quit the Browser application in many instances.

Re: Acrobat Feedback Page.
Yes I've am using The Schubert Plugin But I've recently uncovered a Limitation/defect. a recent upload to our site:
<http://wpea.org/reporter/vea1206web.pdf> shows the defect.
if I use Acrobat/Reader 7/8 to view it its perfect. If I use the Schubert Plugin the text is Mangled.
Turns out the Schubert Plugin uses the technology built into OSX system its used with. IF I open using Preview, it shows the same mangling. This is on a Desktop machine using OSX.3.9.
Now On my Lap top Machine, 17" PowerBook, it uses OSX.4.8.; everything works perfect. THe Adobe Plugin uses the technology built into Acrobat/Reader and is not tied to the technology built into the system.
I've tried in the past to get OSX.4 on my Desktop but what ever reason just doesn't seem to take. X.4.8, can be used with the machine because I have a Firewire Drive attached to the Desktop. So the Limitation is not with the desktop. it just for some strange reason I can't get X.4 to completely install.
