Default acrobat files do not behave as stationary pad in Finder

I have several "template" type files created with Acrobat that I need to be "stationary pad" items in OSX (10.4.7). I am using Intel MacPro towers and Acrobat 7.1. I have created a file and checked "stationary pad" in the "get info" of the file in the Finder. When you dbl click that file, instead of opening an untitled copy of it in Acrobat, it makes a COPY of the file then opens the copy. This is resulting in many dozens of documents named "transmittal copy1", "...copy2", etc. in our folder where only the original documents are kept. Any suggestions?

That's what it's supposed to do. Acrobat isn't a page editing program witha concept of a new, blank document.

    Joe,

Thats easy. Change your workflow. Open the pdf and save it with the
name you want and where you want it. The file a feature request to
change the behavior of future versions:
