Default Acrobat only prints COURIER to Laserjet 2420

When printing to my HP Laserjet 2420 from Acrobat, all fonts are changed to COURIER and the printing looks terrible. Printing to my Epson 2200 or HP Inkjet 3310 works fine as does printing a PDF file from Preview. The printer has the latest firmware from the HP site, and the Mac is a G5 dual CPU running 10.4.8. The problem does not occur when printing from my wife's iMac with the same OS, or from my Quicksilver running 10.2. Any ideas what the conflict could be?

The sounds like the printer driver and/or PPD is improperly configured such that it is telling Acrobat to NOT send the embedded font data (or such data is being ignored).

Make sure your driver and PPD are up to date on the failing computer.
