Acrobat Professional (7.0.8) Won't start
I've got the bouncing Acrobat.
I've tried the "standard" fix, killing "translated" and then re-trying, but no avail. There are no log or crashreporter files to be found.
Adobe Reader opens fine, as well as the CS2 apps I have (PS, InD, Ill).
Any pointers???
carl.

Sorry, more clarification:

Re: Acrobat Professional (7.0.8) Won't start
Carl,
Try to fix permissions and see if you have a corrupt preference file by
logging in as a different user.

MarkATS: 7.1.2 until yesterday now 7.1.3, no difference though. Acrobat worked up until Monday.

Re: Acrobat Professional (7.0.8) Won't start
MikeKazlow,
Neither fix permissions nor different user helps.
If I open the package, the "Plug-ins" folder was modified on Sep. 5, 2006 (I believe Adobe Updater ran that day), but I can't find any files which were put in or modified in that directory.
Still scratching my head. (I really wish i could get it to throw some sort of log...)

Re: Acrobat Professional (7.0.8) Won't start
Carl,
Try to disable plug-ins. I think launching with the shift key pressed
will do this.

Re: Acrobat Professional (7.0.8) Won't start
Quit Acrobat remove all plugins to a temporary folder.
open Acrobat. if crashes not a plugin if works quit.
move half your plugins back to plugin folder try if works the quit and try half the remaining. If it crashed move them all back to temporay folder then only choose half of the first half
Try gain if okay Try each one of that half in turn until crashes.
set that one in another temporary folder.
next try the remaining half you didin't place. If works you've found you bad plugin.
If you have another crash remove those just installed from temp folder (Remaining Half) and do as above again with this half until you eliminate the bad plugin place that plugin in the other temp folder with the other bad plugin.
could be they are incompatible with the version you have of acrobat.
Hope the above is at least clear as mud ;-)
