Default Acrobat Std 6.04 crashes immediately upon launch

My Acrobat Standard 6.04 crashes immediately upon launch (within 5 seconds)

    I'm on a G4 running Mac OS 10.3.9
Just started last night, no apparent reason
I don't know how to read a crash report to tell what the offending conflict is
(in tech notes, it says the first thing to do-- before reinstalling-- is to reinstall the offending software identified in the crash log. the crash log is very long...)

    What should I do? Reinstall?

I have not upgraded acrobat or any adobe products for a couple years because I'm waiting for adobe to release intel-native CS3, to then buy a new mac. Thanks.

I'd fix permissions and then look for a font that might have gone bad.
