action script window - normal / expert mode
hi there, with my action script window, i have the problem that i can't
switch between normal and expert mode. it is always in expert mode.
i am a visual designer and with out this feature it is getting a bit
hard. i work on a apple, g5, osX and have flash MX 2004 installed.
the short cuts dont work, and in the pop-up menue normal and expert mode
is missing. i know how it should look like as i have flash also on a
windows computer where it works.
any ideas? maybe someone who have (had) the same problem?
cheers dimitri

Re: action script window - normal / expert mode
it works with MX ( v6 ) not with MX2004 ( v7 ).
Seems Macromedia decided to change his customers and let non programmers one
away.
I remember that I enjoyed when the first "fscommand" appeared, but I always
think that Flash was find as non programmers were able to do tremendous
stuff without any code.

bad... but still)

Re: action script window - normal / expert mode
you not alone , trust me , many users who did not wish to be push into off hand code typing
do not appreciate that move. It made in fact 2004 the least popular version so far.
Unlike previous releases that lead to major excitement , this one made lots of users stick to MX .
The 'behaviors' offered by macromedia are barely even close to a substitute.
Inconvenient and not practical and most important the action choice ridicules and useless.
There is not much you can do , we move back to flash MX , by now it's the most refine
application . There is lots of other problems in MX 2004 that keep many away from using it.
IF you really don't MUST for whatever reason , stay with MX . Send a feedback to wish list
so macromedia knows that you not satisfy . They won't consider changes unless they see
it really did matter to many users . Their circle of feedback during beta tests is very limited ,
mostly high-end programmers who don't find use in Normal mode at all . Therefor they might not
have clear picture what the application really needs to be and that beside coders there is more.
