    Default actions/buttons Enabled

I have looked this up in Director Help - but it didn't Help...

I am importing a Flash Movie into Director and want to enable it's Action
    Script and Buttons.
What is the correct lingo for this and where do I place it - on startMovie
    or on enterFrame etc?

Also, the Flash movie I have imported does not appear - do I need to adjust
a setting somewhere? The path is correct and it seems to have imported into
the cast, but does not appear on stage and does not play. HELP!

    TIA!!

Of course, after importing, you have to drag a flash member from the
    cast window onto the stage.

There are some flash functions that don't work in director, such as
navigating between flash files or some web communication functions.

Be aware of the flash version compatibility of various director versions

    Director 8 handles flash 4

    Director 8.5 handles flash 5

    Director MX handles flash MX

    Yes,
I had dragged the cast member onto the stage - I actually figured this one
    out from another post:
I checked under the Movie's Xtras and although the Flash Asset was there,
there was another Flash Xtra (Flash Asset Options?) that was not. After
adding this Xtra to the movie, the Flash movie was viewable within the cast
window and it played on screen.

STILL LOOKING FOR HELP on the actionsEnabled and buttonsEnabled lingo. The
Director Help did not Help. What would the lingo be for setting up a
Director movie to read Flash button and action scripts? And where would I
place them (on enterFrame, on startMovie etc.)?

I am working with Flash MX and Director 8.5, and they have been compatible
in at least viewing the Flash movies and in one instance of using the getURL
ActionScript on another project. But I don't know - would that be a probelm
with these two lingo commands or in other ways (what)?

    TIA -again!

You'll have to save your Flash files for player version 5 to be
compatible with Director 8.5. If you want external commands in Flash to
function inside Director then you'll need to link, not fully import,
    your Flash .swf files.

The Flash .swf file is expecting to be running in a browser window with
a direct connection to the web. When it's inside a Director movie, that
connection doesn't exist. If the .swf is linked then the original file
is still outside, and, if it has a browser available to it, can still
    connect to the web.

Look at the tech notes on using Flash in Director for more information
on how to get things to run as expected.
