Actions disapear after hard crash
I had to hard reboot my computer, PS must have been open and now all of the meticulously created actions I had made have dissapeared. I understand I need to save those to keep them but geez, that should be done automatically. Are they nowhere to be found? I cant possibly save every action after every single change, all the OTHER settings in Photoshop are saved automaticaly, why not actions?
Thanks, Roger

Re: Actions disapear after hard crash
Roger,
All actions and preferences ARE automatically saved, as PSP files. When you suffer a meltdown like you've experiences, they are lost.
You don't have to save every action, you save the SET of actions, periodically.
Knowing this, I am anal retentive and make copies of my Actions Pallet.PSP file as well as saving my actions to disk.
The long and short of it is, you are toast unless you deliberately saved the actions or the PSP file.
Sorry.
Peace,
Tony

Re: Actions disapear after hard crash
Another alternative is to post your actions to your website or the Adobe Studio Exchange...as a BACK UP! Sorry for your loss. Maybe an "auto-save" action option will be on the horizon for the next PS. If not, I think it wouldn't be a bad idea if you let Adobe know.
