Re:Active-X Excel-Spreadsheet
I am also trying to figure this out. I found an extra that has documentation on writing out to an excel, but not how to read in from one, without converting it to tab or comma text files. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Re:Active-X Excel-Spreadsheet
Data Linker Xtra for Macromedia Director can read/write data to any data provider, include Microsoft Excel. In uses standard SQL to "talk" to the data provider. In addition to Excel, it also works with mySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access and several others.
Take a look at http://xtras.calu.us for samples and other information about it.
