ActiveX there but won't work
I am running Windows XP with service pack 2. I am not all that computer savvy
but I'm plugging along trying to get ActiveX to work. when I check in
add/remove programs it's there but when I go to a sight using IE I get a prompt
to install it. I have tried uninstalling many times and reinstalling but I
still end up with the same problem. I have Firefox and use that but some sights
require IE. I don't understand why Firefox will run Activex and IE won't. I
have uninstalled and reinstalled IE 7.0 two times, used add/remove to remove
and have tried reinstalling ActiveX over and over. I have seen several others
with issues and have tried a lot of other "fixes" with no luck. I have run Ad
Ware and XP Medic but that didn't help either. One thing XP Medic keeps finding
when I do a registry scan is a "missing key" of high priority I do a repair but
it never solves the problem. If you have any idea of what I might try next
(short of throwing the thing out the window), I'd greatly appreciate it. Please
remember, I am in uncharted waters working on this computer so please speak
sloooowly!
Thanks,
Jan :confused;
