add values without using SUM in query?
HI There,
I was wondering how I can add the total the value intTotalTax as I am
processing a loop. I would have done this in the query but I wanted to break
the display down showing all tax and totals seperate. Is there anyway I can
acheive this in asp and just have one total value (intTotalTax) ?

While Not adoAdditionRec.EOF
OptionValue = adoAdditionRec(1)
OptionPrice = adoAdditionRec(2)
intTaxRate = adoAdditionRec(7)
intTotalTax = intTaxRate*OptionPrice
totalgst = intTotalTax - OptionPrice
response.Write "<td>" & OptionValue & "</td>" & vbCrLf & _
"<td>" & FormatNumberVal(OptionPrice) & "</td>" & vbCrLf & _
"<td>" & FormatNumberVal(totalgst) & "</td>" & vbCrLf & _
!--here "<td>" & intTotalTax & "</td></tr>" & vbCrLf
adoAdditionRec.MoveNext

Without details (database type and version, table structure, desired
results) I can't get very specific. Here is a made-up example
SELECT 'Details' AS Source, OrderID, OrderDescription, OrderAmount
FROM Orders
UNION ALL
SELECT 'Rollup', Null, Null, Sum(OrderAmount)
FROM Orders
ORDER BY Source, OrderID
Now, you can simply loop through the resulting recordset (or, better yet,
GetRows array) to display the data without extra processing to total the
Amount.
